Founded by brothers Joe and Pete LaCorte, New Tricks Dog Food™ is the result of blending family passion with scientific precision. Pete, an aerospace engineer obsessed with detail, and Joe, a hands-on maker with a background in design and operations, set out to reimagine what dog food could be.
Together, they developed recipes that combine culinary creativity with nutritional science — made from whole, human-grade ingredients and engineered to meet or exceed AAFCO nutrient standards for all life stages and sizes. Each meal is gently cooked in small batches on California’s Central Coast, then frozen fresh to lock in flavor and nutrition.
We test, taste, and fine-tune every recipe — because we feed our own dogs, Beia and Maizy, the same food we deliver to yours.

Every meal starts with whole cuts of meat — sirloin beef roast, pork loin, or chicken breasts and thighs — blended with our NewTricks VeggieBlend of fresh, non-GMO vegetables. We add our grains to be cooked with the meats– absorbing the savory flavors. All slow cooked in layers until all the ingredients are all very soft and easy to digest.
